Finally finished! This is my picture for the 2012 #Anthro-Fantasy-club winter art exchange. I got to paint =little-owlette's AWESOME barn owl character, River. Man, I love painting owls so, so very much. <3
Little-Owlette had a bunch of different ideas for the background. One of the things she suggested was a cozy room. I'm still trying to practice interior scenes, so I knew that was the best idea for this picture. It also gave me a chance to play around with warm afternoon colors - what's not to love?
Anyway, I'm sorry I went over time by a few days. I tried to get it in on time, I really did, but it simply wasn't finished a few days ago. Oh well. At least I got it done during the 7-day leniency period.
Tools used: PSE and a pencil Time Taken: No clue, really.

I realized I should say more. The work deserves more comment.
First off, Little-Owlette's character, River, is very cool. I love the thought she's put into River to give her not only physical details (such as the two-layer tail), but some good personality traits as well.
I love the lighting effects in your painting. You've added those beautiful gold tones from the late afternoon sun and I love the way it affects everything in the room. The light and shadow effects work very well through this work to give it more dimension and texture. The room was kept elegant and simple, only adding visual highlights and keeping the focus on River herself.
Is it creepy that Goofy and Pluto live in the same universe? I've never found it creepy myself (I view them as different species) but everyone has their own tastes.

Beautiful work.
I am I reading too much into it? Irregardless, an excellent piece!
